Joey is a screenwriter, playwright, immersive experience and Escape Room designer, actor, director, and historical education specialist.
He works with publicists, agents, producers, production companies, and corporations around the world as a story analyst, consultant, script doctor, and freelance writer.
He serves as a consultant for the International Independent Producers Guild’s Virtual Theatrical division, which combines live theatre, live streaming, and edited content with immersive audience experiences.
Joey is the writer and puzzle designer of four Escape Rooms, including the forthcoming Mothman ’66 at the World’s Only Mothman Museum in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
His award-winning Escape Room in Scotland rose to a challenge—creating an experience that celebrates faerie lore and Scottish history in the living space of a holiday cottage with no build-outs or dedicated space, which can be easily changed over and stored when the hour-long experience is over.
Joey has written several award-winning screenplays and stage plays, and many of his scripts are based on true stories or otherwise steeped in history.
He is a Kennedy Center–trained teaching artist with certifications in arts integration and residencies. He has a certification in Universal Design for Learning, and he has written five books on theatre and storytelling.
Ken is the Cultural Czar of Northeast Oklahoma. He also serves as Executive Director & CEO of the Route 66 Alliance. Previously, he served as Executive Director & CEO of the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa for twelve years. A native of Tulsa, Ken holds a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and French from the University of Tulsa. He has a Master of Arts degree in journalism from Indiana University at Bloomington. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, Ken is also a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma Class XVII.
In addition to his work promoting Route 66, Ken is also a strategic adviser for nonprofit organizations in the areas of board development, strategic planning, and fundraising. Recent clients include Emergency Infant Services, Iowa Museums Association, and the Rogers County Historical Society. Ken is passionate about his work promoting arts, culture, and education.
Ken is immediate past chair of the Tulsa Route 66 Commission and was appointed by the Governor to the Oklahoma Route 66 Centennial Commission in 2020. He is president of the Oklahoma Museums Association and serves on the executive committees of the Tulsa Symphony, Tulsa Performing Art Center Trust, and Oklahoma A+ Schools. In 2015, Ken was named the Leadership Oklahoma Distinguished Graduate, and in 2021, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence. In 2022, Ken was named to the inaugural class of 55 Over 55 Inspiring Oklahomans.
Wade is a designer, writer, curator, researcher—and a lifelong student of history. Above all, he is a storyteller, drawn to the craft of shaping narrative through words, visuals, and experience.
His career spans roles as a graphic designer, art director, creative director, and marketing director, working across consumer-facing retail, business-to-business, sports, and entertainment. His work has supported organizations ranging from early-stage startups to one of the world’s largest global beauty brands, providing him with a nuanced understanding of audience behavior, brand perception, and cultural trends.
For more than three decades, Wade has worked in the entertainment industry across creation, production, and management. His experience includes exhibits, trade shows, festivals, concerts, and corporate, fundraising, and private events—an ongoing laboratory for understanding how people move through, interact with, and remember immersive experiences.
His approach to storytelling is multidisciplinary, blending written and spoken narrative with carefully considered visual and experiential design. Each project is guided by research, context, and an appreciation for authenticity—ensuring that stories are not only engaging, but grounded and resonant.
In 2019, Wade began developing a traveling exhibition exploring the history of Route 66. Spanning more than 45,000 square feet, the exhibition incorporates walk-through environments, soundscapes, costumed interpreters, vintage vehicles, video, and historical artifacts. Debuting in June 2022, the exhibit has since been experienced by tens of thousands of visitors.
